6” incision. Titanium, robot assisted.
I’m flying on Dilaudid and Percocet and hope to be off them soon.
Went well.

HEY!
GOT YOU BEAT!
BOTH HIPS DONE!
Seriously ,take it slow.
You will have pain from the surgery for a few days, Be careful with the meds, some can be addictive! I used very little meds.
Move very cautiously , allowing the muscles tissues to heal.
Try not to walk too much for a few days, the Meds give you a false sense and can move yur leg alignment.
TAKE IT SLOW!
Let PT build yur body back up.
You will be fine!
I did it twice.

Thanks for the well wishes and cool advice.

I couldn’t handle both hips at once but it would be the way to roll if I could.
It’s brutal.
The robot assistant helped with the surgery. $331 out of pocket for that.
Robot pic won’t upload.

Food ok.

A nice Lazy boy was rolled in and my Nurse wife slept next to me.

An action packed 3 days recovery that the wife thinks was an insurance money grab. I coulda walked outta there day one.

The ER two floors down slammed with ambulance deliveries as was helicopter deliveries two floors up.

So busy they were rolling ER victims into patients like me rooms and gaggles of doctors working on them.

One nurse so over whelmed she went full shut down. My stoic Swiss German nurse wife jumped up and consoled and helped her.

Wife loved the action. I couldn’t sleep.
Learned ER terms:
Bulls-eyed patient : Car accident Victim went thru the windshield.

Diabetics that don’t take proper care of themselves, skip their medication if in a traumatic accident their condition is X100 worse to treat, probably worse.

Ok, time for meds and maybe sleep.
Be glad when I can quit the meds.

Good to hear, hopefully me too.
LISTEN ! I AM DEAD SERIOUS!
Take it slow, allow Body to adjust and heal properly!
Yeah ? You can walk around, meanwhile yur alignment is @ High Risk!
All the muscles ,nerves ,ect need to heal properly!!
Yur surgery has no support to keep the alignment intact !
ITS MUSH NOW, understandably.
After my 2nd Hip done, the PT Therapist said to slow down walking ,its a false sense of movement.
Question: Do you want to do surgery again due to mis alignment ?
The leg bone needs to grow back properly!
Sorry !? My surgeon was anal in what care had to be done to heal !
Get well ASAP!
We can have 3 legged races ! LOL!

Glad to hear your surgery went well!

If you don't mind, can I ask if the replacement was due to a broken hip or something else? The reason I ask is that my Mom broke hers in 2023 and she basically went through hell to get to the point where she could walk again (mind you, she was 79 at the time, so I'm sure that factored into it).

I'll eventually have to have my left hip replaced due to arthritis and am terrified of it!

HI!
HIP REPLACEMENT: My age 67, Was done in 09, then 2 nd .
I got to the point where when I got up to walk from sitting, I could not get up to move ?
Short story: My hip was Bone on Bone and would LOCK UP!
2nd Hip had bone spurrs, Not good?
The replacement was fine, just the agony of the open surgery pain.

Arthritis. Bone on bone. Medicare with a PPO supplement insurance paid for it.
It’s a different operation now.
My motocross friends had theirs changed out over 30 years ago and it was brutal.
Wife tried weaning me off meds rotating in Tylenol,, nope that’s going to be another week on the narcotics.

I’m taking it real easy.
Following all the rules and precautions

Glad all is going well. Being a nurse, I well remember those crazy ER shifts. Now I work recovery room. One patient, wake ‘em up from surgery, make sure they are stable, and off to another nurse on the floor.

I walk at home exactly like the Physical Therapist had me walking at the hospital with the most essential walker.
A total of 150 feet twice a day real slow.
Then the gentle bed exercises.

5 day since mark and tried phasing in Tylenol and it’s too soon for that.
My wife is a nurse and she’s been right there with me.
Advocate when one hospital nurse lost it.
A sweet girl with her heart in the right place.
Ya gotta be geared for nursing. It ain’t a Hollywood TV show.
