No showers I’m using required bathing wipes. Can’t get water on the bandages or glued incision.

The Amazon Wipes really good but the hospital wipes the wife uses must be sheets of rough grit sandpaper soaked in battery acid.

Brutal rubdown & cleaning.
I need a block of wood to bite on.

WOW!
I only stayed overnight after surgery, Do not remember how long I had to wait to take a shower?
But!? Was told to not get the bandage wet and handwash around it.
I was told leave it alone .
remarkable when they open yur bandage, its like very clean , AMAZING!

My wife was outpatient and showered the next day - per dr instructions. the "glue" sealed everything up tight.

Anterior from the front approach hip replacement with robot is different from the past posterior method.
Less muscles cut with the robot.

Maybe recovery is different.

Visiting nurses say some people have little pain and make it back to work in 3 weeks.
A month is recommended.
Most not so easy.

Glad you're on the mend. I had my right hip done this February. Got rid of the walker after 5 days. Stopped the Pain meds from Dr after 3 days, all they did was make me tired, no pain relief. Stayed on Tylenol when needed for the next 3 weeks. First week was the worst for me, I was very verbally abusive to the Wife. She was a trooper and stuck with me. I don't know if I would have stayed, lol. Now, married 40 years, I cannot apologize to her enough, lol.

Did 40 visits to PT and that really helped the most.

On Tylenol and head clearing up.
Good to read how you others are doing. Pain gone - stiff numbness remainsand still some swelling.

my wifes recovery nurse gave good advice "if it feel tight and sore, get up and walk around" wife says it works. She also dropped the oxy very quickly, just ibuprofen and tylenol. She has a fair amount of numbness on the outside of her leg, they said to mash on it and it could last a month or two.

I'm still having some numbness top of my thigh mostly. It has reduced, but Dr said some people are done within a month or 2, and some can take up to a year. Everyone is different in their recovery.

Numbness: Unfortunately is one of the risks with surgery. My surgeon warned me.
Nerve damage is a crap shoot!
I have a slight numbness on my thigh below the hip, I live with it.
Both hips are fine !
