I was wondering if I could use the bundle wood that you see at gas stations and grocery stores for smoking?

Around here those bundles are soft wood, and you don't want soft wood for smoking.  I would also be concerned that they may treat the wood to kill insects.  I'd find another source of smoking wood.

First of all. Welcome to the forum!

I use them all the time, but you have to know what your getting.

The one's that I buy are a combo of oak, hickory, & pecan.

The bags say mixed southern hardwoods and also say can be used for cooking.
