Hi All,
Just got my first stick burner, an Old Country Pecos. Have been using your basic weber kettle for years. I've been debating over the last few years honestly what to get and with being stuck at home I figured I better just get one. For $400 and all welded I think it's a great deal. At times I was going to go with something much more expensive but I simply have too many hobbies.
I haven't seasoned it yet as I'm waiting to hear back from the storage manager about two small issues. Please see pics. Anyone that has seen or purchased a pecos recently seen this? I did curbside pickup so I didn't get to really pick mine out and only realized it when I got home. If this is common place with the pecos I can deal. From the pictures I've seen the name plate isn't normally messed up like this. Being cosmetic I can deal (again $400). On the two pictures show the left and right side of the smoker right where the door closes. The welding in the area seems very weird. Not even sure why it had a weld there. Right right side seals better than the left.
Happy to finally have a sick burner! If anyone has a good line on wood in Northern Florida, please let me know.
Thanks!
ben
