Muskogee ok
Heller from good ole Muskogee, OK. I am new to smoking but have always grilled food for fam and friends over the past 5 yrs. Also have been around a few friends that have big expensive smokers on trailers. Decided to get my feet wet w a MES 30 before deciding to make a 800.00 or more investment on one of the larger ones. I know my way around this thing fairly well already but I am willing to take any advice on every aspect of smoking! I want to get good at this so any help/tips/advice is GREATLY appreciated!

Welcome to the SMF Family...Lots of MES owners so any questions try a search or ask. You will want to look into an AMNPS Pellet Smoke Generator... http://www.amazenproducts.com/Default.asp  The MES is good but adding Chips every 30 minutes gets old. I have an 8 pound Pork Butt smoking overnight tonight. It will take about 16 hours. Loaded the AMNPS once and it will give perfect Thin Blue Smoke (TBS) for 10 hours and I don't need to leave the Apartment until I want to add more Pellets or bring the Pork in...JJ

Welcome to the board!

I started with an El Cheapo Brinkman charcoal smoker a few years ago.  I was able to pick one up used for $20.  I made some decent que on it, but I just got an MES 30 for Christmas.  It is so much easier and I'm really starting to cook now!  I just picked up an AMPNS a couple weeks ago and am really digging it.
