hello, I’ve been lurking for a while now. But I finally finished my own uds build and gave it a test burn yesterday!

Hoping to learn a lot here, nothing I like more than learning and eating lol

Welcome to the site, I was born in Brooklyn and moved to Ithaca. Now reside in VT.

once the weather improves ill post a pic, its the usual uds build : 3-3/4" inlets, 1 ball valve, 45 degree elbows on the inside to try and help create turbulence inside the drum, 2" exhaust, shelving brackets so i can adjust the height and number of racks.

looking forward to smoking a turkey next weekend.

Weather looks like it's going to cooperate so tonight when I get home I'll snap a few pics with my crappy phone

Here are a few pics, one of my "old" off-set that technically worked but left a lot to be desired, and the new hotness I just finished

That is whats left over after filling the basket (14x10) around 80% full and letting it cook for 13 hours with temps ranging from 220-320 while i figured out how to adjust air flow.

I think with a full load and better temp control i should be able to get 18 maybe 20 out of this drum but time will tell. I still have lots to learn lol

Good morning and welcome from Stokes County, NC.

We retired from our farm outside Auburn, NY last year. Where in NYS are you?

Good morning and welcome to the forum from a beautiful sunny day here in East Texas, and the best site on the web. Lots of great people with tons of information on just about everything.
