.Usa Japan! Yep, its a place...
Yup . That started way back when I was an apprentice Carpenter . Made in Usa . I found out when I showed up on a job with a 2' level stamped made in Usa . Journeyman smacked it up against a column twice and threw it off the sixth floor . Lol .
I was shocked when I got the notice of a price increase for a Dewalt planer . Coming out of China . Never gave that any thought . Same with the Hex clad .
I'm betting Weber and the rest have a quality control presence in the countries they do business with .
Part of posting the vent stampings was to your point of " what it means " .
Made in America ? South America , Central , North ,,, ?
There's good info on the trade commision website for people that want to be informed on the language of what means what .

Yep, most American companies have reps in China keeping an eye on stuff. By the same token, all companies contracting China are essentially required to give up all intellectual rights so the Chinese can duplicate and make their own version of everything.

It's why I can easily have two backup spares of the carb for my generator (and spares of stuff for most all of my small engines). So called "OEM" parts are three times as much money...and guess where they are made? The markups are insulting and they are counting on the consumers not realizing those are not U.S. made just because it says "OEM". The original part was probably not made in the U.S.! 😬

I would love to buy U.S. made stuff, and in some cases can, but we dont make much here anymore. Heck I just heard on a news program that American manufacturing is about maxed now, but thats because most of the factories closed!:emoji_disappointed:

I did buy a snow shovel from Lowe's over the winter that proudly stated 100% made in America though. I was stunned.

Wings are looking good!
With gigging every weekend and a short vacay mine is still in the box 😔
But I did pick up a stock lid last week for free.

It’s a Polish vortex. It’s a 6 x 8 reducer for stove pipe trimmed down. It actually works pretty good for the type of cooking I do. It’s pretty cheap and flexible so I can push it to one side if I do a part of a brisket or a pork butt. 👍

Still have mine stored in an out shed that wife ain't seen. Debating on whether I should pull it out on my birthday weekend. Or just keep it stored out unused till later. LoL
Just slap a Weber sticker on your toolbox and tell your wife you got sponsored by Weber and they sent it for free 😂

Well about 40 minutes later....

Could have gone a little quicker but had to adjust one of the spring loaded leg clips and took my time.
And one with lid I plan to drill and add a thermo. Don't won't to mess with the paint scheme.

Will be doing the initiation tomorrow if the weather holds out. Thinking ribeyes!
