Just got a new MES30 and wonder what type of wood you guys use? (sawdust, chunks.chips?) Also the best place to get them? I have been using a Brinkman water smoker for many years and it cooked great but NEVER enough smoke. Very little smoke flavor. So I finally got this MES30 you guys talk about. Now that enough snow is melted so I can open the door here in Buffalo,NY. I'm going to try it!!

Sawdust is the way to go, and an amazen smoker. Don't wait, order it now, and let's get smokin'.

Pretty much personal preference on the chips/chunks and soak/no soak. I was a chip user at first and switched to chunks...was a soaker and now a no soaker. Used to use the water pan and now filled it with sand. So, things evolve. I have also switched to the amazing smoker now and find it very easy to maintain the desired TBS and the wood flavors available are many. If you choose to stick with chunks/chips for now Home Depot or Lowes usually have both in a few flavors around here anyway.

Very true, I tried alot of different chips and the AMAZN is hands down the best.  He has a a pretty good variety of dust that he sells also

I've only done a couple of smokes in my MES40 so far, but I'm getting 2+ hours of smoke out of a small handful of dry chips.
