I'm not sure what you mean the pics "disappear". Whenever a post gets held I get an email about it and I haven't seen where any posts from you have been held, I'm thinking somehow the pics aren't getting uploaded correctly.
Look at this tutorial and let me know if this is how you are doing it so I can rule that out and see if there is some other problem.

New members usually will have posts held for moderation whenever the posts contain a picture, link and even a smiley. This is automatically done by the software and we can't control it. We do this to help keep the spammers out and to help ensure someone doesn't just come in here posting inappropriate content that we wouldn't want our children to see. This usually only lasts until a member makes about 25 posts.
