Hi, my name is Dan. I'm married for 42 years and have two adult children and 6 grandchildren. I'm retired after 31 years with a huge chemical company. We built our retirement home 10 years ago in southeastern Arizona about 4 miles north of the Mexican border. We are beginner smokers with a new Masterbuilt 30" electric smoker with the glass door. We have tried a few things so far with varying degrees of success. I've hunted and fished all my life all over North America. However disabilities are bringing those activities to an end. I guess meat smoking will be a new hobby.

I'm glad I joined your forum.

Dan

Hello and welcome from East Texas. This is a great site, lots of information and great people that are willing to throw in their two cents worth on about anything  ........  Sorry to hear about your disabilities .  Smoking is a lot of fun, trying new things, different types of smokers and the people.

Hi Gary,

We lived in Texas near Tomball for a few years and traveled all over the state. I had a 1700 acre hunting lease in the hill country near Mason and Brady. It was loaded with a variety of game. Texas BBQ can't be beat. The Texas oysters, shrimp and crayfish weren't bad either. I did a lot of hunting and fishing in Texas.

Thanks for the welcome, Gary.
