Hello all!  My name is Tom and I live in southeast Pa.  I have smoked (or tried to!) a few items on my Weber charcoal grill as well as propane grill and oven.  I got back into hunting last year after a 15 year lull, and decided instead of paying someone to butcher and make my meat, I wanted to do it myself.  So with the venison I got this season, I plan to do some jerky, sausages, and snack sticks.  If you have any good recipes to point me to, I'd really appreciate it!  Thanks!

Forgot to mention, I just bought a Smokehouse Big Chief smoker for cold smoking and would like to get, or build, a regular smoker eventually as well. I'm a mechanic so building one wouldn't be an issue, but I rent the house I'm in for now and would rather not move it.

Jakester, I'm about 40 minutes away from you, up around Reading. Thank you both for the welcoming!

Hi Tom! And welcome you have come to the right place for the kind of information you are looking for. I don't do game so it won't be me, but there are many here who process, cure and smoke their game.

Randy,

Good morning and welcome to the forum from a cold and windy day here in East Texas, and the best site on the web. Lots of              great people with tons of information on just about everything.
