New to smoking, but really enjoying it!

Hello all,

My name is josh and I live in southwest Florida. I just recently became part of the smoking community. We got my father in law a basspro masterbilt elite smoker and keep it at my place because he can't have one at his condo. I have done two pork butts so far and they come out better each time. I look forward to learning more from each of you.

Nice to meet ya. Great folks here. If we can't smoke, we'll settle upon talking about smoking. The search engine is amazing, its packed full of useful info and the Q-View tutorials are unbelievable. If you have a question, research or start a thread with your question, or check the forum it would fall under, and if all else fails ask a guru. That is those with either a moderator or OTBS tag by their name.

My biggest suggestion is that you get some type of designated storage, a journal, a notebook, a flash drive, something..... and keepm records of what you do. Be dang embarrassing to do something really exceptional and then when ready to do it again you can't remember that splash of spiced rum you put on it in jest. Hey Josh

Welcome to the forum.  You’ll find great, friendly people here.  You’ll also find a ton of info—if you have a question, just ask and you’ll get about 10 answers—all different LOL  You know, now that I think about it, my FIL is in a nursing home--maybe he needs a new smoker that I could kindly look after for him.  Might have to check that out for bday, anniversery, or Christmas.
