got a question   Regarding the Thanksgiving turkey smoking --  after brining overnight the next thing to do was to apply the butter / rub mixture BUT  the turkey is cold and the butter hardens and falls off.   What to do put in smoker for a 1/2 hour to warm up?  then apply butter?

Welcome to the forum!

Glad to have you with us!

I had the same problem when I tried it.

I ended up heating the butter rub mixture up & brushing it on the turkey.
