I'm from Central Missouri, and just got my first smoker last weekend. It's a Myron Mixon Pitmaster Q3. I have no idea who Myron Mixon is, but it was the biggest smoker that was available for a price that I was comfortable with at the place I was in, so that's what I got. I've been using Pit Boss Competition Blend pellets, again because of availability. I've smoked pork chops and a couple of beer can chickens. My wife has smoked some bell peppers and a pizza. We're totally new to this whole thing, and more than a little apprehensive about it. I'm planning to do a pork loin this weekend, and if that goes well, I'll probably expand from there. This is also my first time posting on any kind of forum, so I apologise if I'm doing it incorrectly.

TWT, welcome to SMF!  Glad you're here with the new smoker and putting it to work.  You're doing great for posting the first time on a forum.

Don't let smoking intimidate you.  A smoker is just a smoky oven.  If you can cook something in the oven, you can smoke it in the smoker.  The only thing magical about lower temps in a smoker is that it takes the meat longer to cook so it can absorb more smoke.

Enjoy the forum, and don't hesitate to ask a question if you can't find an answer with the search button.
