Wow! By reading through some of the forum it sounds like you folks are fairly obsessed - I can't wait!!!!!!!!!

I've been making jerky in a dehydrator for many years - probably been through 4-5 machines. I have been eyeing smokers for a long time - finally we had smoked pork baby backs at my neighbors for the 4th of July and my wife insisted that I order one - hard to beat that.

I ordered a GOSM Big Block and I just got the notice that it shipped today.

Live in Denver - does anyone know where to buy supplies (chunks) locally?

Looking forward to the forum

Welcome to SMF. Why don't you introduce yourself over at the Roll Call section and get yourself a proper SMF welcome.
We aren't obsessed, we can quit anytime, um yeah well just not today!

Ron50 - I thought I was in the Roll Call section - where do I post my name and introduce myself? Thanks PR

They also have Jack Daniels flavored chips but so far most people don't seem to think they are worth it. In the garden/grill section!

Welcome to SMF!!! Obsessed is really a negative term. I prefer the term Eternally compelled!!

As far as wood chunks you could check your large chain hardware store( home depot, lowes, even ace)

Welcome and smoke on!!!

Personally, I take offense to the word "obsessed"! We all know we are all professionals, with lives and careers, and families, and.......uh, wait, I got to go check the temperature on my butt. I'm pulling another all nighter!

Hello and welcome to the SMF, where friendly people trade advise on many subjects besides smokin'. While you're at it, try a few different types of wood to see where your preferences are strongest. Long live Blues, brews, and chews.

Papa Roid,
Most of the 'outdoor' stores sell chunks and chips. I usually buy mine at Sportsmans Warehouse on Wadsworth in SW Littleton. I too have a Big Block GOSM and since we're in the same neighborhood, pm me (private message) and I'll send ya my phone #. Great group of folks on here and all your questions can be asked (and answered) here.

LOL yeah you are right, my bad. I must have inhaled too much smoke today.
