Today is my first long cook on the new Old Country BBQ Pits Generation 3 Offset smoker. I am doing an Australian Wagyu Brisket Point. Although its pictured here in my backyard driveway, I have already moved it to its permanent place (in my BBQ back shack). This thing is a beast, weighing 800lbs. Double wall, mineral wool insulated, cooking chamber 24" x 48" with a 24" in diameter firebox. It's going to be a long cook going into the night, but I already have enough beer in the fridge! Cheers all and happy Saturday!

I saw a video last week about that smoker and one really cool feature is the spring assist on the lid. For someone like myself who at times struggles with shoulder pain, that can be a game changer...

This is an interesting concept, although a fully insulated pit for the backyard is... maybe a bit much, IMO. Easy enough to run away with temps unless you really have controlled wood/split sizes and you know what you're doing.
I've watched some videos on this, but what I haven't seen is any pricing information. Can you give us an idea what they're planning on charging for this thing?
From my perspective, it's probably not something I'm interested in, I have multiple offsets and an insulated backyard offset, but I can see it generating a lot of interest - if it's in a price point people can afford.

I’m thinking Al has a YouTube BBQ channel I’m subscribed to. Beautiful smoker and looking forward to seeing the cooks and any comments Al has regarding the insulated Fbox & Chamber

It's a beaut Clark!
I have had my OC Wrangler for 10+ years, very interested to hear how you like it after a few cooks.

Nice rig,
- Jason

I could be wrong but, I've been told around the price of 3k. As far as the temps going off on you - it's like any smoker; you learn how to use it best. The right size wood split and firebox door adjustment will get you in the right temps. As soon as I'm given the green light, I will publish my cooking videos on this. And yes! - I do have a YouTube channel - I just didn't mention it here because I wasn't sure on the rules on that on the forums. Cheers!

Nice shack, I see a MB gravity feed, to the right is a gas grill? On the left is a Santa Maria style grill? or a griddle?

Correct. Starting from right to left, Old Country BBQ Pits G2 Offset, Weber Sprit E210 propane grill, Masterbuilt 560 Gravity Fed Smoker, Old Country BBQ Pits Vaquero Grill (Santa Maria grill) and on the bottom left is a Gas One Propane burner 200k BTUs. This is an old pic, before I got the G3 in.
