New Member in Iowa

Hello!

I came across this forum while researching smokers as I am looking to get my first one soon.  I am currently a student at the Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine. I live in Johnston, IA and commute up to Ames for school.

Based on the research I have done and the money I would like (or my wife will let me spend), I think I am going to go with a Masterbuilt or similar, propane smoker.  So far I have been very impressed with the information on this forum and look forward to learning more about the process.

I was also excited to see the gardening topics on here. My wife and I are planning to plant our first garden if it ever warms up here in Iowa.  I was having a difficult time finding a good gardening forum until I came across this one.

Thanks all! I just goy my first smoker! It is a Masterbuilt Pro Dual Fuel. I put it together and seasoned it tonight. It's all I can do to not start smoking tonight. I have my final exams for vet school tomorrow through Wednesday but I might sneak in a quick smoke of some chicken quarters or something this weekend :)
