I've been running a smoker for quite a few years now, nothing fancy just a guy who likes to put out great tasting BBQ for friends and family. I started with a little charcoal oval smoker which I eventually replaced about 5 years ago with a 4 tray propane box smoker which has worked out quite well, but is on its last legs. I broke down this week and ordered a Yoder 640 after a couple months of research and look forward to taking it all to the next level.

I'm active on several other non food forums and look forward to getting to know the crew here and benefiting from your collective wisdom.

I just put some bacon wrapped chicken thigh skewers on the smoker and am getting hungry just thinking about it.

Fellow newbie here to the forum, you sound like you know your way around sir, great people here in SMF, and truly a wealth of information, going to check out that Yoder you spoke of, I have a Char Grill and I just got a MES 30 I did a rack mod to and I will be firing it up this coming week when I get my extra 3 racks in, can't wait to make some Jerky and some other food of course with a more reliable heat control !

Thanks for the welcome everyone. Joe you are right up the road from me. We moved to Gwinnett county two years ago from closer in town and at times it feels like I'm closer to SC than to downtown Atlanta.

Good morning and welcome to the forum, from another sunny and hot day here in East Texas, and the best site on the web. Lots of great people with tons of information on just about  everything.
