Just wanted to check in and introduce myself.  As a gift for Father's day this year, I treated myself to a Weber Smokey Mountain 18.5" due to the reviews it recieved here on the board and I haven't been disappointed.  This is my first smoker and it's made even a newbie like me look like a pro.  I was sick of going to BBQ restaurants and thinking how good this would be if....so I decided to put my money where my mouth was and get to smoking!  I have been on here just about everytime I have fired it up whether I'm looking up what the internal temps should be to the cooking times I should expect and I've always been able to find the answers.  I've smoked a turkey, turkey breast, briskit, ribs, and numerous pork roasts and haven't ruined anything yet.  I'm of the belief that there is no "bad" BBQ, some just better than others.  I just want to thank you all for the great site and knowledge, you've helped me a bunch.  I hope I can contribute but mainly plan to soak up and learn all I can as smoking is now my new habit

I am located in Maryville, soon to be moving about 10 miles south to a new pad that's being built.  Can't wait!

Good Deal, its great to have another nearby. Sounds like you are close enough to make it to a gathering if we get one setup for this spring.

Building a new pad!!!  Of course you are gonna have a outdoor kitchen built right from the start, right? Giant smoker, commercial ovens and frig, and umm well might as well have a stainless grill for the taters and rice and such.

Sounds like a gathering at moots new place in the spring.....how far is it from Bama to MO.LOLwelcome to the site moot.glad to have ya

Only bout a buck 15 on the plane Bama. Not sure in the car, (are we there yet)

All we need is a big field, the smokin type aren't to needy. Good smoke, good food, and good beer, we're ready to have a good time. And to not leave out the non alcohol drinkers we would have a designated virgin drink bartender.

Welcome to the forum Moot. Been up to Maryville a few times for Eagle meetings.

Like Tom's idea about a spring get together.

Keep soaking up all the info on here and post up some Q-View.
