That's right Lizard Lick, but I don't repo or tow cars, actually I don't even watch the show.  I started smoking meats while living in South Africa and not that we are back in the states and moved into our house I finally got a smoker, the Masterbuilt Vertical Charcoal/Propane Gas Smoker Masterbuilt.  I figured I would start with a low cost, good smoker.  I have been reading up on this smoker on this site and saw some of the modifications one needed to make, the biggest one to me was adding the cast iron skillet to hold the wood chips. So after seasoning the smoker two weekends ago, I finally got the chance to smoke a few chicken thighs and wings just to try this thing out.  They came out great and the cast iron skillet upgrade worked great, good smoke, and easy cleanup.  My next upgrade will be the gasket around the door.  Our dinner guest just about cleaned me out, I barely had any left overs to bring to work.  Now I have to figure out how to smoke a turkey for Thanksgiving.  I see there are quite a few post on turkeys so I have some reading to do.  if you see something in pictures I could do better one please let me know.  One thing I'm not sure on is where to put the maverick thermometer base.
