New guy from Illinois

Hello all! My name is Charlie and I am from Antioch in northeast Illinois. I live on the shores of the Chain of Lakes. I have been smoking meats for over 30 years and up until recently have been using one of those Brinkman upright cylindrical units with the electric option as my cooker. But recently I upgraded to a Masterbuilt propane fired smoker unit to replace it. What got me onto your site is that one of the local grocery chains has pork loin on sale this week and I figured I was going to pick one up and give that a go on the smoker. I was googling for different angles to smoke one of those and I stumbled across your web site. So decided to join up. Lookin' like bacon wrapped is the way I am going to go for starters and still mulling over other options. Monday will be the day. I am guessing you will be seeing me poking around on the site every now and then.

Hello Charlie, and welcome to the forums! This is the best place I know for sharing ideas on smoking, grilling, curing, etc. There are plenty of friendly, knowledgeable folks who really enjoy helping one another.
