Just purchased a Masterbuilt propane smoker several weeks ago.  I have played around with pork and chicken so far with pretty good results.  You folks have a great site, hope to learn as much as I can.

Thanks,

Joe

Tony111,

How well does the electric masterbuilt work in this frigid section of Ohio?  I have the propane version but also concidered the electric one but was worried about getting to 230  when its 20 degrees out.  The propane works fine but the electric seems like it would be a heck of alot more convienent, propane isnt getting any cheaper.

Thanks,

Joe

The electric works fine in the cold but the wind is a major factor . I have a 30x40 pole barn I run mine in to beat the wind. Seems like it is allways blowing like heck here when I want to smoke!!!! Lots of info here in the smoker sections on how others deal with it. Enjoy your new smoker.

Welcome! Your not too far from me across the border. Im in PA in the New Castle-Sharon area.
