.... icicles hanging off my smokehouse in Fort Worth, Texas!

From my back yard:

Texas Sage is down!  It will spring back up when it thaws.

10 yr old ice-covered oak tree

Front yard;

Not Guns'n'Roses, but Frozen Roses...

This is not snow, it is sleet and freezing rain.  We got blasted Thurs. night into Friday, and expect more tonight 'til tomorrow, in the low 20's today, teens overnight.  Won't thaw until Sun. pm/Mon.and just above freezing.  The entire metroplex is shut down, most businesses are closed.

Welcome to my world, Pops. However, we are used to it and prepared for it. I hope it gets back to more regular weather for you soon.

Oh, believe me, I know about it, I was born and brought up in wayyy upstate NNY.  We had 250" during the Blizzard of '77 alone.  Lived there 46 yrs, then moved to Texas.  (Haven't been back, either, lol!)

Stay safe and warm, Pops! Hope your weather gets better soon!

LOL.... you need to maintain a high input of antifreeze or your body will lock up!

Its perfect timing here, my Christmas cactuses are all blooming!

Stay warm out there folks............

OK Pops,

so it's not new for you, just not expected?  I mean like, "Really.  I moved south for nice year around weather".  What the...?  Right?
sorry.gif

It got down to 3* F here tonight.  I'm not smoking nothing in this cold.

Smoker is out in the yard waiting for me to clean, re-fire, coat with peanut oil while warm, and cover when cooled, until temps warm up,  Brrrrr  Maybe spring?

Stay safe Pops.  Don't go out on the roads.  Those Texans don't know how to drive on that stuff.  LOL
