My the temperature on pit boss digital 3 is horribly inaccurate out by 50-100 degs. I did a turkey at Xmas smoker was set on 370 to get 240
PB has sent me a new control and sensor there was no change. I'm convinced the sensor is too close to the burner and to make things worse when the chips are burning the heat is right beside the sensor. As an experiment I wired the burner with an extension cord dropped the sensor in from the top through a vent, the smoker worked perfect. I need to find a sensor with at least 4-5 ft lead wire preferably mounted through the back wall.

I tried this one from Ebay all I got was an error message
K Type Thermocouple Probe Stainless Steel Thermocouple 0-400℃ Temperature Sensor

Anybody have a suggestion as to what kind and where to find a sensor?

Did a quick Google search, Pit Boss uses a RTD type temperature probe, you tried a type K temperature probe and got an error message. Makes sense to me, the R in RTD is Resistance, the Pit Boss brains is looking for resistance (ohms) to calculate temperature, you tried a Type K probe which uses millivolts to determine temperature hence the error message. I’m no electrical engineer so I would suggest you do your own research to verify my findings.
