When i bought my last desktop it was like a month before they came out with windows 7 and they sent me a windows 7 disk to load on myself. Well about 3 months ago the house i just bought got struck by lightning and took out my computers mother board. I got a new motherboard but now i cant find my windows disk to load on my computer.

Does anyone have a copy of windows7 i can use?

If I'm not mistaken, most software CD's have a registry code, as well as online purchased down-loads of licensed products, and this code is used to register the software online. Unless it's a disc coded for multiple machines (may be for 2 or 3), the registry code cannot be used twice without someone getting slapped for it. MS tracks their product use online, and if the software registry code is on two machines, it red flags you. There are ways around this, but you don't want to get caught...they'll block your ISP from internet use with computer until you remove the software and they check your machine again and find it's been uninstalled. If you refuse to comply they can and do take legal action.

Unauthorized down-loads from pirate sites (unlicensed software or music, etc) can turn out the same way.

Good luck finding your Win7 disc...thinkin' you're gonna need it.

An install disk is an install disk, you can use it on any machine.
The product key is what can't be used on more than one machine (unless it's a multi-PC license.)
As long as you have your own product key (on the COA), you can use any appropriate install disk.

No product key?
Then you need to buy a new copy of Windows 7.

Better yet, ditch Micro$oft Windoze and download a Linux distro for free.
