I am considering a different thermometer.

Morning and welcome to the forum..... Is there something wrong with the one you are using??  Have you checked to see if it is still in calibration and reporting the correct temp??

The thermometer is from my turkey cooker.

It has been bent more than a few times.

I'm not really sure it accurately measures air temp.

Will a therm designed for cooking meat and liquid accurately measure air temps?

Yes..... put it in boiling water and see what it reads......   should read 208 or so at your altitude....  Dave
