Between planting flowers and all other sorts of stuff , managed to pull off a nice first rib attempt on pellet smoker . Ribs on right are momma diet friendly.... ended up in a a weird method today . It was like 3, 1, 1. Came out great . Pull off bone , good smoke on back end and juicy tender . Very happy to see a nice ring . Never could get that on my electric ( ring ) . Thanks for looking .

Good lookin' ribs.. I know Momma is happy and if you're house is like mine.. that's the main thing!;)

What model of Pit Boss do you have by the way? I just received the Pit Boss Copperhead 7 Series. I've burned it in but haven't had a chance to cook anything on it yet.

Jeff , I have the Pit Boss 700 series . I'm very impressed with it honestly but only have a couple smokes on it so far due to work schedule but I can tell we are gonna get along just fine this summer .

Mike , I kept it on smoke setting for first 2 hours on P-3 setting , then went to 220 for another hour then wrapped them for an hour more . Then unwrapped em again for like half hour because I could tell they were done . I will say my TP 20 was reading hire then the model LED and the rotary therm on grill itself but everything just worked out on it .

Great looking ribs. The Pit Boss Rigs are great looking pieces of hardware. They have designed a lot of the desired feathers into their units that decades of thrashing on pellet smokers have produced.

I do recommend smoke tubes! Man does it produce that missing cooked with log smoked flavor within a pellet smoker.

EDIT: And they’re ridiculously cheap. I have several secondary smoke generators.

The tube is my next step in this set -up for sure . My initial thoughts on my pellet is that it does a fantastic job helping me make very good food I'm proud to serve and more importantly eat . That being said , I believe with learning the rig and temp settings , that a supplemental smoke along with this rig would be very hard to beat for a part time smoker like myself .

I couldn’t agree more, Brother!

I likely have the most expensive 2017 Traeger Pro 34 on the planet. I got the smoker and added mods out the wazoo. I have surely exceeded the purchase cost of a Timberline 850 long ago. BUT, my Pro 34” can do things the Timberlines will never do.

Tons of tweaks have been available for years on end. Lots to enjoy for sure! You have a perfect rig to truly produce some competition worthy BBQ. Amazing how pellet grills/smokers have brought smoking to so many people who would never have considered smoking food otherwise. Not necessarily you, more in general. Traeger truly created an entire industry and the variances and options out there today are absolutely endless. I scoffed at the pellet heads for years laughing at them. Then my son bought one and he brought some food over. Then we went to his place for a smoke! I was sold! I had one within a week and I literally gave my gas grill and propane smoker to a free home on Craigslist. True story.

I love this pellet smoking. There are enhancements that will produce everything you every remember or seek in your BBQ.

Happy Smoking Brother.
