Speaking to all the outdoor chefs,
What is on the menus for Mother’s Day? Around my house it’s a bit crazy. We have Grandmothers, Mother’s, ...and after 35 years of marriage my kids are Mother’s too.
So what is on your menus? B

It's going to be quiet around our homestead, as both my mother and MIL have passed on. For the wife I'll probably get her a couple of twin lobsters.

Corned beef & coleslaw, that what the Lady wants!
I've had 2 Prime briskets in a dry cure, since I made the brisket burgers.
They are going in the SV for 48 hours at 145 degrees.
Haven't tried this before, so we will see how it goes.

Likely a dinner out here. We have an event to attend Saturday evening with a hotel stay and I have to work Sunday afternoon into the evening.

My wife wanted tapas/appetizers throughout the day (whole family coming over) so I am doing:

blackened shrimp with remoulade sauce
cheese and olive platter
mini cheesesteaks
chicharron tacos
chicken gyro with grilled seasoned pita, greek salad relish, and tzatziki
blue cheese bacon burger sliders
Cilantro chicken burger sliders
Smoked rack of lamb
Peruvian marinated wings with aji verde
Reuben quesadillas
Assorted homemade sausages
Burnt Ends
Homemade hot dog and cheddar kielbasa sliders
Philly pork sandwiches with broccoli rabe and sharp provolone
Spinach and artichoke dip

I will be busy but I love cooking a few things at a time and everyone can try each thing. Its really social and forces people to try things they normally wouldn't. Also avoids them filling up on one thing and not having room for the stuff I really worked hard on.

Father in law is going to cook a couple pork loin (to death) even got the guy a thermometer for Christmas one year... Still unopened I imagine. I'm in charge of some of the sides/apps. Thinking some abt's and moink balls should do nicely.

Keeping it pretty simple. Wife just wants hamburgers and hotdogs, so I’ll just do them on the grill. But of course I wanted to throw something in the smoker so I will do 1 rack of spare ribs. Thinking Memphis style.

The Boss sent me across the country! I had organized a trade to be home tonight and tomorrow!

Nope, the Boss tossed that plan last night. Now I sit in Nashville. I need to go find some BBQ!

At least the room is nice! Real Nice!

What's on my menu yesterday, and still leftovers today, is a bathroom.
So I'm stuck in the middle of yet another recoveries of the wife's starts that I have to finish for her.
She wanted the bathrooms painted. She did a half-fast cut in around the main BR, so I finished the whole thing for her.
Now, I'm doing the Master bath and dealing with some corrections to the ceiling.

I think I would rather be in Pat's socks... Bored in Nashville.
If I was I could call up the in-laws and go visit.

But no.... I've got dry-walled mud dust up my nose and down my throat...
Tasty! o_O

It's a bit tearful too.
The wife's Foster Mom passed away exactly one month ago. So she's not exactly in a Mothers Day mood this year.

I made pulled pork, baked beans, and smoked twice baked baked potatoes (Jeff's recipe).

I have a couple pics no finished products but the process...

Everything was a big hit and everyone loved the food!

Happy Smoking,

Twas a smoke-n-grill for me, hand cut NY strip steaks cut 1" thick, marinated with Lawry's Hawaiian meat maride for about 4 hours, smoked with hickory for about a 30 mins, then finished up on the grill to 160. Also made some scalloped potatoes in the oven, and some broccoli florets. yum. Turned out well, have enough meat and taters leftover for another dinner tonight.
