Modification to pellet smoker

I'm not sure if this is pure genius or plain stupid. I wanted something I can hang stuff from. I'm seasoning the wood now and it appears to be holding the heat. Can I expect issues?

I was considering mounting my Big Chief smoker on the exhaust port of my pellet pooper but this looks interesting. Please post results.
