Mini WSM?

Maybe this has been answered already, but would it be possible to use the 18.5 midsection to make a WSM mini starting with the Smokey Joe?

Yes but only the Jumbo Joe and most likely only if it's upside down like the extensions.

Maybe.. Not for sure. Either way it should work. All I know is the extensions needed to be upside down to fit the Jumbo joe but it works.

Sure but the mid section is expensive which is one reason I'm building a 30 gallon UDS, it'll have an 18 " cooking surface

The math says it'll work, worst case it wouldn't be hard to make it work but I doubt worst case would come into play.... Oh and you meant to say Jumbo Joe

Yeah, I mean Jumbo Joe. The lid and bottom should both fit you think? That would be a really cheap mini WSM.

Yea absolutely.. I'd do the same thing if I wasn't doing the 30 gallon. What's really nice with that set up is when traveling the joe clamps together to keep the charcoal secure.
