Just finally was able to assemble my new MES40. It sits level from side-side perspective, but is angled quite far forward. I imagine some forward angling is neccessary for the drip trap to work correctly, but how much is too much?

This is as close to level on deck as i could get but you should be able to see feet and angle.

If the grease drain hole in the bottom of your smoker is in the center, I think you would want the smoker to sit level front to back and side to side. If you have too much forward angle then grease will tend to pool more toward the front of the unit.

Are your back legs adjustable?

Chris

Sure the adjusters don't go on the front ? Wheels sit on the ground in the back ?

If it is the model I think it is, those adjustable peg legs are installed just in front of the wheels.

With too much foward slant, I'd be worried about throwing off the center of gravity and having the smoker tip forward each time the door is opened.

That is my thought as well.
Made sense , but just looked it up . They do go on the back I think he has the lock nut threaded out .
H huskyrugger , check and see if you need to loosen the locking nut on the threaded part of the adjuster shaft . Level the unit then thighten the lock nut .
