MES 30. Is this an acceptable temp swing?

I just got an mes30 a week ago and today I did the mailbox mod and I’m testing it out empty. No meat no water in the pan. It’s 49 degrees outside and I have the smoker set to 225. My Weber Igrill is showing my temps going from 223 to 230 and then back over an over. I think this is normal just want to make sure. Thoughts? Thanks in advance.

I have to tell you those temp swings are better than acceptable, they are great especially with a empty box. If I had only 7 degree swings I wouldn't have put a Auber PID on mine. What model number do you have? Jted

I don't start worrying about temp swings until chamber temp moves 25F or larger, and then I'm usually only worried about drops. Climbing temps, 50F is usually where I'll jump in and do something. 7F? I doubt your kitchen oven can maintain a 7F difference.

Mine runs over at least 30 if not more . Wasn't like that at first . Drives me nutz ,, but still puts out good food .

Yep, I'd pay money for that kind of consistency.
