This is supposed to be a 18lb whole packer brisket, when I took it out of the vac pak bag it fell into what you see in the picture, 6 chunks of meat that do not look like any brisket flat or point I've ever seen before? Anyone else see anything like this before? They look more like tri tips. The package had brisket label

I'll venture an educated guess .
Check Pectoral . Also known as special grind .
Sits on top of the brisket , gets trimmed off .
Usually come 6 to a bag where I get them .

I know not the brisket you wanted , but it's a good useful cut of beef .
Here's a couple ways I use it ,

Overnight dry brine . Grilled hot and fast .

Slice across the grain .

Roast beef and gravy ,

Makes good grind too . Chili , burgers , or pasta sauce .

If you buy " stew " meat at the store , good chance it's chuck pectoral .
Same with ground beef .
