I finally bought a maverick 733 .. I hate it
Or should I say I hate it because the instructions are horrible!!! I have a college degree and I can't follow them. The only way I was able to set it was to sit and press buttons for 20 mins... Is it me?
I think I will just return it!

Took me a couple uses to get used to it. I got it down pat after that. I don't think i read the instructions other than how to pair the remote.

Well I have it set for pit 225-250 and meat
205 . I will keep that one for my briskets. I guess I will have to get one for pork butt. This way I never have to change it!! Lol

Come to think of it, I hardly set my temps anymore. I usually only set my temps for overnight smokes so the alarm gets me outta bed to deal with things.

That is a good idea though, just make sure you get a different color model

I had 2 732s, and kept losing signals. I bought a 733 and have never lost a signal yet!  As far as the alarms, I don't need them. I took the time to "max" them out to the highest and the lowest settings. Now when I use them (I bought another one) I don't have to go through the complicated set up. The signal works no matter where it is in my house. Dave

I spent two hours on YouTube learning how to use them. I got it now .. But I still say the the instructions are not user friendly.

Why not just turn the alarm off?

Don't feel bad, I had to do the same thing.  I just wanted to change from Pork to Beef and had to have help on how to do it.

Well did a 6 lb Chuckie with it. The easiest smoke I ever did. Between the maverick the pitmaster and the wsm it was like using a set it and forget it smoker. I'm a believer

HI All I have to agree the instructions for the 733 are Major pain!!! Going to U tube and see what happens.. I had 2 Mavericks 732 they were simple to set up.

I got a replacement cause one of the 732's went bad..Now I have the 733.

Hope U tube helps some.

Dan

No reason it has to be so convoluted!!!
One button for preset meats
One button for pit temp up/down
One button for meat temp up/down
Why do we need press these two , then when it's blinks press this one and whistle twice!
Come on!!!!

HI All Thanks to U Tube I am getting the hang of it..I think!!
