So, when I bought my new MES 30, Gen 1, a few weeks ago, I had a couple of problems.  It was missing the 2 screws that mount the controller to the smoker body and the meat probe was off by 40*.  I talked to Masterbuilt Service and they said "no problem, we'll send you the replacement parts".  Just like that--no arguments at all.  Gotta like that.

Today, FedEx brought in a box for me.  It had my new meat probe.  I shrink wrapped a large area around the probe-cable attachment location and replaced the old probe.  When I boil tested the new meat probe, it was within 1/2 a degree of bang on--pretty amazing for a stock therm.

What they didn't send were the 2 mounting screws.  No big deal, I can pick up a couple of screws.  However, the screw size is in metric---M5 x 14 mm.  Can anybody help out and tell me what size that is in English???????????  Nobody in town has a clue as to what I need to buy.  I checked out my supply of bolts and screws, and naturally didn't have anything that fit.

Other than that little glitz, I can't say enough nice things about Masterbuilt's service personnel--they sure treated me right.  I'd buy from them again, anytime.

There is no English equivalent. You need the M5x14 screws. Most any hardware/home improvement store will have them. I agree, MB's customer service rocks!!!! Can't be said about everybody around here. LEM being one that I'll mention. Talk to dirtsailor.

Hey Phil

OK, apparently I'll have to go into Edmonton and see if they can supply the metrics, 'cause nobody in Drayton Valley has a clue.

I agree totally with you about Masterbuilt's service--best I've ever seen.  I just couldn't believe that a factory therm was that accurate.

Thanks

Gary
