I have a 15 month old Masterbuilt Pro that I purchased from a big box store that has gone bad. Masterbuilt has been more than fair on customer service. I called them to disclose my problem and they sent me a new controller free of charge. Unfortunately, this did not fix my problem and it must be an internal issue.
Called MasterB back and they`ve offered to sell me a newer generation smoker at a discounted price of $185 plus freight. I think I paid $259 for my original smoker so the offer is slightly less than my original cost. I figure I`ll have spent $500 for a smoker once I`m done .
One part of me likes the ease of electric and says I should bite the bullet and take the MasterB offer. The negative is paying for another one of their products that might go bad.
I also see a Weber Smokey Mountain (18.5) on Craigslist for less than the Master B offer on the table.
What would you do?
