I got masterbuilt 40" smoker put it together it was easy I'm Pre seasoning it right now got it at sams it has wheels in the rear of smoker in the

manual if say's that you should pre-soak wood chips for 30 min. whats your opinion -soaked or Dry---?  My old smoker --Brinkman-- it said to spray the racks after every use with "Pam" vegetable oil.  It doesn't mention that in the new smoker's manual--what's your opinion?

Congratulations and Welcome To The MES OWNERS CLUB...

I never soak my chips, it doesn't do any good, they just have to dry out to start smoking... Also I moved from using the built in chip smoke box to using an AMAZE-N-SMOKER, it makes an Unbeatable Combination...

Congrats on the new MES40. I use wood chunks seems to do better to me and dry. I also spray the racks with pam it helps with cleanup. Put some foil in the box just above the smoke box so it fits to the right rear seems to even out temp. Also get another temp probe most of the ones on the MES are off as much as I have seen 50 degrees mine is only about 20 off. GOOD LUCK
