We've been using an oxo for a few years w/o complaints. We also have one of these sitting in our junk draw. It still works great, but it gets forgotten about.

I have a cheapazz generic one I use in the barn kitchen. It opens cans without fail. Don't overthink it.

believe it or not, we use the one I bought at a discount store for my first apartment in the 90's, we have tried others (OXO included) and the cheap one is still better. It is branded "swingaway" and made in the USA.

We have been using under counter can openers for years. I dumbly replaced ours with a new one a year and a half ago when we had our kitchen rebuilt. That one is already broken.

My wife just bought a Le Creuset manual which we will be using until I get a better quality under counter one again.

Edit: Added in a photo of can opener and teapot.

OXO.

And if you like the safety kind the Kuhn Rikon is a good one.
