I'm looking for a 110 v thermostat (prefer mechanical therm)and element combination that will run from zero to say 250ish. I will be using it in a 4ft square ss box.
All advise is welcome. I don't mind a little "frankenstien" work.
makes the entire process idiot proof. Mechanical thermos for ovens rarely go below 170F. They also require a relay which dont last as long, they cycle full on and off, the digital cycles constantly but they control the output so that when target temp is reached they dont vary more than a degree or two. With mechanical youll get swings in temps as high as 10 degrees above and below.
I'm rebuiling and old stainless warming oven with a conversion to a smoker. Lots of "low and slow" cooking. the old element is toast and not compatible for what I want. I am also limited to 110v, I like the idea of digital. I was trying to keep it looking original but thats just not practical, i'll hide the digital controler and just leave to old knob in place.
