you bet that's a "Nice" supper.
Cash in your 401k to afford the meal?
Beef tenderloin used to be a treat when I found it for cheap. Now we settle for sirloin at today's higher prices.

Looks mighty fine. I've been able to score a few tenderloins lately for basically the same price as Tbones. They're so much better. I can't wait for the weather to let up. So I can break out the cookers again.

Point for sure

Appreciate the appreciation.

I buy Select tenderloins on sale here for $10 a pound(sometimes $9 when I’m lucky). That’s always cheaper than I can get a decent steak. Even now, they’ll go on a sale like that maybe 3 times a year if I keep my eyes open.

It’s a tenderloin, so tenderness is a non-issue even in the “lower quality” meat: and they’re sometimes from older cows, which means they actually have flavor, which I don’t think the choice ones do. Select is actually my preference for tenderloin.

So this high end meal for two was still less than dinner for one at a chain steakhouse.

Love saving money while eating like a king. :)
