At least here in the Northwest, spring has finally sprung. The world is back to green, and majority of the garden went in today. Tomorrow we open the cabin for the season.

I'm enjoying a Manhattan on the patio...

...and there's a rack of ribs on the smoker.

I hope all the rest of you are having a pleasant Sunday. [emoji]128578[/emoji]

Sounds nice! Mother Nature is being a Bitch here. My yard is squishy and it's supposed to get into the 30s tonight. Typical Midwest. So much for planting, but the trees and shrubs are doing great. It is good to see green. Grandpa always said to wait for the 3rd week of May to plant anything. Farmers are taking a big hit. Even the ones who haven't planted and seen it washed out will be a couple of weeks before the fields are accessible.
All in all, same old same old..
How were the ribs?

Same in Ohio - we put a new shed in the yard in December, trying to replant the yard but have had torrential rain all week just East of you in Columbus, OH.  Squishy is an understatement (just mowed).  We're getting there and the green is nice.

Bad weather...except for some periods of sun. But great Sunday: pulled pork (a lot...for freezing), cabbage rolls, home made Sauv Blanc, smuggled plum brandy and a good book i can't stop reading. The only downer an air dried duck prosciutto that i had to trash.
Ofcourse this pales compared to what some fellows here do in an afternoon: replace a roof.

Sorry to hear that.

The ribs rocked. Al's method makes smoking ribs pretty much bomb proof. [emoji]128578[/emoji]

Pulled pork is always good. I was sorry to read about th duck prosciutto. I've got a full wine cellar but I've never made my own. I know my limitations!

As for the wind, that's the thing to remember. Life could always be worse!

It's about time all you guys up north get a break with the weather.

We need rain down here, but hopefully no hurricanes to go with it.

Yeah, it's been pretty nice down here in Mississippi. We've had a few bouts of wind but nothin too bad.

Ribs look great man! I'm sure they went well with manhattan.

Those ribs look great.  And so does your weather.

The last of our snow melted last week and Miss Linda's front flower garden has crocus and tulips growing everywhere.

I agree with SmokeyMose about not planting before May 24 weekend.  I ignored that one year, and the next morning had 6" of snow on top of everything.

The only thing weather wise I've had to gripe about was the pool being in the 50's this weekend.
54'-56' Brrrrrrr! But it didn't stop my kids and they finally got me in too.
Warm, partly sunny, cool breezes... Very nice BBQ and gardening weather, we're already pulling green Bell Peppers and chiles Jalapenos out of the garden.
Everything else is growing like crazy, going to be a bumper crop... Gonna have to do a bunch of canning.

You got in the pool with the water in the 50's? You're a better man than I! I just started opening the pool yesterday and (after topping it off with well water) it's about 58. Looks like we're not going to get any days above 80 until June. (It was 38 when I left the house this morning. February was warmer this year!)

I'm in Charleston for business this week and it's going to be in the nineties on Wednesday and Thursday.

Yeah, I was balking at going in, then my 11yr'ol son hollered, "Polar Bear Challenge!" And well... I had to accept the challenge or lose face.
Besides, that isn't bad, I've busted ice before for real PBCs.

Looks beautiful up there. Great day in Boise today. Last average frost here is May 9th. Planted some flowers, carrots and leeks today.

I've got most of the garden in. Having suffered May frost before, I do have plastic cones over the tomatoes! I've got peppers, cucumbers and squash left to put in the ground. Loving the eveening out here in Eagle!
