Whats goin on guys. New to the forum as far as posting and being a member but ive creeped here for sometime doing research for things i have going on.
Picked up a char-broil 1280 offset used a few weeks ago, instantly sanded it down and painted with hightemp paint, welded up random holes and factory thermo hole in the lid, 2 new thermos at grate level, rtv'd the firebox to the chamber and around the 2 piece firebox(remember, cheap offset smoker hahaha), lavalock gasket around EVERYTHING, fabbed up a 10"x10"x8"(i think were the final dimensions) charcoal basket and extended the chimney down to grate level. So far ive only had a chance to do a couple racks of st. Louis style ribs doing the 3-2-1 method that turned out great! So more about me is im a cnc operator for suncoast converters and if youre into diesel performance you know the name. I love to build and work on bagged(airride) truck, i own a 99 blazer with a 3/4 tube chassis under it that ive been working on for 5+ years. Live in the beautiful Florida panhandle maybe a mile from the gulf, high cost of living is totally worth it! Look forward to learning some more from you guys and sharing my experiences!
