I know these knives are being well received by those that bought them. I bought them and was rather surprised that they were not very sharp. I had to spend quite a bit of time on them to get them as sharp as I want, and I'm not really there yet. I'm just a casual cook and haven't had access to quality knives, so I'm not sure what to expect out of a new set. Is it right to expect brand new knives come sharpened?

I agree with M Mattmilw that these knives are way less than sharp. Anyone else thinking of returning them?

I got the 5 pc set and I thought the knives were very sharp. For the price I'm keeping them.

All of mine are plenty sharp enough for me.

Mine were extremely sharp too. Haven’t needed to use the sharpener that they come with yet so can’t speak on that

I'll try another knife, I was just trying to cut a grilled tri tip and didn't seem to slice smoothly.

I felt the edges and seemed sharp to me. I’ll try a few on some meat and a tomato later in the week. The beauty’s of Amazon is the ease of returns too if not happy.

Honestly they're $18 I expect to have to run em over a honing rod and use my rough fine pull thru a few times to get em to Dalstrong sharpness lol. If you all are expecting WÜSTHOF levels of sharpness out of the box you're probably gonna be disappointed

Mine were very sharp to the touch. Haven't used them on anything yet, but I have a good feeling these are plenty sharp.

The 2 sets I ordered, a 5 piece and a 7 piece, have come in. I haven't opened them to check sharpness, but I feel sure they'll be better than what our children currently have and use...Merry Christmas to them...
