Good to know the sales have started. 40 cents a pound at Wally World for KBB and 42 cents a pound for King Comp at Costco. Memorial Day is when prices drop to 20-33 cents a pound. I have about 30 lbs of KBB and 38 lbs of lump left but that won't get me to Memorial Day. Sales at HD and Lowes are probably not too far in the future.
It will be interesting to read what folks have to say about King Comp. I thought it burned twice as quick as KBB and didn't leave much usable for the next smoke once you choked the fire. Great for the chimney starter and short smokes though, which is what I ended up using it for.
Bummer, my wife told me this morning she needed my truck for the weekend due to snow over the summit in the Sierras! Arrgghhh! She left me with her little Mazda as she took off for the weekend on a consulting gig. At lunch today I went to one HD and they had already sold out of the KBB. Ooooh, I was fit to be tied. On the way home from work I stopped at another HD and they had pallets and pallets of the KBB! She made me promise I wouldn't put any in her back seat (I was so tempted). Unfortunately I could only get 3 x 40 lb packs, 120 lbs, in her "half loaded with work crap" trunk. 120 lbs, that's a little less than four months for me.
