Good day all. Has anyone used a kebab maker? I am interested in the easy kebab maker that uses a press to encase a skewer with a ground meat mixture.

Anyone used one of these? What did you think?

Also, anyone that has a bit of expertise in kebab making I would love to hear what you use to make kebabs.

Thanks...

Along for the ride... Never used a press but just tried ground beef kofta and think I will just forgo the skewer and make into logs to grill. I tried a recipe based on parsley (most are) and think next time I will try something else, cilantro or oregano. Despite all the seasoning it tasted pretty much like grilled hamburger. Also, I think you need to let the meat rest in the fridge a few hours to set before grilling.

I've never seen anything specifically for kebab, but the idea made me think of the sushi roll maker I seen on some facebook video. You basically lay out your nori, rice, and whatever else on what I would say is a strap, and then you use the strap to roll/tighten the sushi roll. You could probably use it for kebabs, and just place the skewer in the middle before you tighten the wrap.

Search Sushi Maker on walmart's website. It'll be black/white/clear plastic for like $12. Not sure if this is the exact one I seen in the video, but it looks like it does things like I remember seeing. You might have to modify it a little to make it where you can have the skewer in the device while you roll it. But it's plastic so a few minutes with a dremmel would knock that out.

I swear NEPAS used a stuffer to make them. I never even heard of kabobs made of ground meat until recently but I am determined to come up with a good recipe. As of late, I plan to try to basically make gyro meat loaf but roll into logs and grill.

Saw this on face book this morning. Looks.....interesting. I guess.

I'm pretty sure I've seen a couple videos of guys making something similar to that with pop bottles. Seemed to be an easy diy, and dirt cheap since it's just plastic bottles.
