Thought I would share some of this passed years kayaking pics with you. We have great areas for both freshwater and saltwater kayaking/fishing. I live about 5 minutes from the Waccamaw River where I like flyfishing for bass and panfish. Nice slow moving river with lots of spanish moss in the trees.

Caught this bass on my fly rod. He pulled my kayak around for several minutes before I got him in.

These little guys love crickets.

Here are some of my saltwater pictures. I go down to Murrells Inlet which is about 25 minutes away.

Here is my first flounder out of the kayak.

Baby Black Sea Bass.

The blue crabs will grab on to your bait and not let go. A lot of them wont let go even if you pull them out of the water. If they only knew how tasty they were, they would not be so brave.

Did you see that 10 pounder under that cypress knee in that first pic? nice pics, reminds me of my early days in Ga.

Beautiful pics by both of ya's. I live right across from the Banana river that feeds into the inlet that feeds into the Atlantic .... always though of taking up kayaking and the posts have definitely swayed me to look into it.

Great pictures Darrin! Looks like fun.

You need to get together with Vlap. He's a yak fishing son of a gun.

Ah man, looks perfect. Wouldn't mind havin larger images of those 1st two, they're amazing, would make a great wallpaper. The saltwater fishin looks really cool, and I'll bet them rod holders work better than any you can buy. Thanks for sharin!

Thanks for sharing your part of the country with us. Love those moss filled trees, are they cypress? I bet those rod holders make damn fine strike indicators too

If I could get one rated to 320 that would be good for me.

What kind is that? What do they cost?

Are they stable?

Darrin,

Thanks for the pics. I'm a fly fishing yak guy myself but today I will be fishing through a hole in the ice.

What kind of yak do you have? Mine are Wilderness Systems sit in's. I want to pick up a sit on top this summer.

Very relaxing looking river you have there. Great pics.

I used to yak in northern ca-loved it-sure can get into your blood-try it laurel u will love it-we would take the river all the way to the ocean than yak the sea down 25 more miles-somtimes make it a 2 day trip-I Will do it again before I can't.

You have not lived till you have kayaked with a 6 1/2 foot grey shark towing you around the bay. I flipped the bale and let it run while I paddled ashore and fought it from there.

Where I fished with my Kayak ( an 18 foot folbot ) Those rod holders would have been toast the first time a fish grabbed your line. Even a 30 lb Salmon can tow you all over the place and almost anything can pull the rod overboard suddenly.

Nice pics, I wish I was there, the water around here is all solid this time of year.

Great pics Darrin,Can/t hardly wait til the water temps start rising and start flounder fishing.I live just up the road from you at Oak Island,N.C..I'm down your way every once in awhile.(Bass Pro Store)
