made by forshner and a 12" chef knife made by dexter / russel.and both made in the good ole USA, found these great deals at the south west cash and carry. selling whole sale to the public...they had 18oz size spices of all types.I picked up 18ozs of hungarian paprika for $9.85.seems it was the most expensive.as most the other spices in the 18ozs bottles were @ $8.85

the boner was $8 and change and the chef $33 and change, sweet knife.

was wondering how the prices of the spices compared to other areas?

nice score on the knives, coyote....I have a pair of Dexter-Russel 10" chef knives...rosewood handles.....I love em....hold a great edge. Forschner makes some fine knives also....

Saw the title of this thread and was going to tell you I was sorry. Then I read your post. That is a good deal. I need to pick up some new knives too. Just haven't seen any deals around here.

Best size for a butt! I did a tutorial a while back on proper application for deboning of the butt. Errr wait it was an 8"...sorry! Good steel there man... nice pickup!

Hey that's a great find. Forschners are great knives, hard to sharpen, but once you get an edge on it it's there for a long time. They love a good run on the steel every time you pick it up.

Here, is what I been getting my Paprika for, but quality is absolutely amazing. I am 2nd generation Hungarian American and this and sour cream run in my bloodstream.

good luck with your knives, may you cut accurate and true.

Not only does Hungary have the abundance of sunshine needed to grow the world's best paprika, it also has knowledgeable farmers capable of nurturing the crop from planting to harvest. In Hungary more than forty types of paprika are grown. The farmers determine which type will produce the sweetest, most colorful crop based on their weather predictions for the coming year. The quality of the paprika in this year's crop will depend on how much sunlight Southern and Eastern Hungary receive in the weeks before the harvest. Hungarian Paprika is great for not only adding vibrant color, but rich pleasing flavor to traditional dishes like Hungarian Goulash. Hungarian Sweet Paprika also enhances simple baked chicken.
Californian paprika is deep red, mild and sweet, nice for chicken but browns with long cooking.
