Just bought a weber smoky mountain. Need help with a part

I just bought a weber smoky mountain smoker and just put it together. There was a part included that I can not find in the manual and wondering if anybody knew what it is.

Wow, no idea.  Mine doesn't have anything like that.

Looks like one of the flip up grill tops for the Weber 22.5" grill (not the WSM) where you can add charcoal during a cook. Only problem is the grate rods run the wrong direction for that part.  I have no idea?

It's a fence to prevent food fights chicken isn't always friendly! Most likely just some scrap someone tossed in the process.

Send the pic to the Weber folks and ask them what it is.  They are nice folks.  I guarantee it isn't for the WSM but I'd be curious to know what it is.
