Like to really enjoy all of the threads here, so interesting
My Name is Harold or W2HR, I live in the Beautiful Rogue River Valley/Grants Pass, OR. I feel I am an very old school love to smoke meat. Started back in the late 60's but what a change in the technical aspect now, so many choices for grilling & meat smoking tools. Makes my old home brew smoker that many years ago went to the Rust Gods! I have now purchased myself for my birthday in fact a new near entry level wood smoker made by Maco. I have used it a few times with success too I might say. It doesn't do the job like my grandson's very nice big weber & someday I may upgrade also. I really enjoyed the book by Meathead got it on my Kindle Fire along with many other grilling techniques. I'm retired from engineering & contracting from a major utility as a engineering supervisor & have been now for over 22 years. I dearly loved my job & the challenges but was ti9me to move on to other things in life. I have spent 2/3's of my life with Shriners & helping make the kids Shriners care for in their 22 hospitals something to be proud of, even served as a Potentate of Rizpah Shriners in Western Kentucky where we lived prior to moving to southern Oregon to be closer to our little family, one son & his family in the Portland area & the daughter in northern California with her family.
I'm confident I will fi9nd a lot of pleasure reading on this forum. I along with my new smoker have a wonderful 4 burner Jeanie grill that I have used & cared for for many years. I also have a 2 burner Nexgril on my covered deck that I use here where it does rain! I have enjoyed grilling for so many years I can't remember in all kinds of weather & with some might fine equipment over the years
