I'm planning to smoke a pork shoulder for the first time tomorrow with the intent to vacuum seal and freeze the leftovers. I also plan to make some of that famous JJ Finishing Sauce to go with it. I've been reading that it is not a good practice to mix the sauce with the pulled pork before it is frozen. So, does the finishing sauce freeze well? I was thinking about freezing separate portions of the sauce to use with the meal sized portions of PP. Maybe in ice cube form?

I don't use JJ's recipe, but I freeze my PP with the finishing sauce on it.
Never had a problem.

Yes the Finishing Sauce will freeze just fine. Realistically, the only reason to leave the sauce of is, if you may want to use the meat for something other than Pulled Pork. The strong Vinegar flavor can interfere with some other recipes. I've not seen Finishing Sauce effect the texture of refer stored or frozen pork. There is no Safety issue...JJ
